Because you really mustn’t make fun of the renowned author Dan Brown.
Ah, it’s good to have confirmation that there’s no reason to ever, ever bother reading The Da Vinci Code, no matter how many other people loved it.

I actually was required to read Da Vinci Code in undergrad for a course on The History of the Book. We had to read it to discuss what societal perfect storm can happen to make a best-seller, it was actually pretty interesting. I have been having that awkward moment a lot in recent weeks though when people ask me if I’ve read Inferno yet. Because no, and no, I’m not going to.
That sounds like a really interesting idea! I’m not sure even that would make me suffer through a whole book, though. Maybe there are cliff notes somewhere for the Da Vinci Code? : )
I was SUCH a science geek at the time, not sure it would have occurred to me to take a class like that, even if one had been offered. But hey, if your class figured out a killer formula to make a best seller, be sure and let me know!
